Cutting the Roofing Timbers – Capel #4

The Capel Build Part 4 – Cutting the Roofing Timbers

In Part 3 we saw Robin getting the timbers together, in this next instalment we see him and his team get stuck into the post and beam construction.

Roger really enjoys watching a craftsman at work and the gale force winds didn't stop Robin working or us following him for the day. We hope you enjoy this update on The Capel Build.

That is so Dangerous of a plank we’ve all done it over the yes but having fallen from a roof at that height it hurts .Small Builders .Projects can get away with health and safety .where as on site far stricter now .

Not sure if I missed it in later videos, but how are you transitioning from glue-lam beam to window frame and ensuring window heads are protected from elements? Does the external gluelam get cladded? Be really interested in seeing videos on window installation..

I screw a small piece of tile batten with a slight overhang to the width on the top edge at both the top and foot of the pattern rafter, that way it’s easier to line up with the blank underneath and ensures the pattern and blank are dead flush

building flat roof with korniche roof lantern, [cold roof system] 9×2 joist with firrings fitted, building control say reqs additional cross venting around 2 sides of lantern, have trickle vents fitted to 3 sides and roof tied into bungalow roof so vented there, would we be able to notch firrings or drill holes in joist to achieve cross venting
