Installing Skylights in Metal Roofing

Go to: www.RoofingIntelligence.com to watch my entire two hour series on installing metal roofing. This clip shows how you can easily install a polycarbonate skylight panel into metal roofing. These type of skylights are great for sheds, carports, and barns as they let in lots of ambient light.

Thanks for the video! I’m about to build a 20×40 shed barn combo and was trying to figure out how to add skylights. Despite my chicken coop using 100% polycarb roofing, I didn’t think to mix and match for the new building. I know my local Home Depot sells both the metal and polycarb, so I’ll test to make sure they match. Thanks again!

I know this is answering an old question but I will do it in case someone else comes along needing to know.

I cut my poly panels with a 140 tooth skill saw blade. I mount it reveres on the saw. This means I do not mount it so the teeth are facing the way it is suppose to be mounted for cutting plywood or paneling. I was told to do it this way by a retired contractor who now works for a big box hardware store and it worked perfectly. I even used it on my table saw for splitting the panels to be 1 foot wide and a few inches wide for installing on the inside of my home made camper for ceiling panels. I just reversed the blade so it was facing the wrong way.
