Installing Skylights in Metal Roofing
Go to: www.RoofingIntelligence.com to watch my entire two hour series on installing metal roofing. This clip shows how you can easily install a polycarbonate skylight panel into metal roofing. These type of skylights are great for sheds, carports, and barns as they let in lots of ambient light.
i really wish you would have actually showed the panel on the roof a little closer
Thanks for the video! I’m about to build a 20×40 shed barn combo and was trying to figure out how to add skylights. Despite my chicken coop using 100% polycarb roofing, I didn’t think to mix and match for the new building. I know my local Home Depot sells both the metal and polycarb, so I’ll test to make sure they match. Thanks again!
Good information. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for putting all these videos together. A big help to my project.
a first time I have seen your vid are you a sales man or installer
I’d like to put a metal roof on my shed, I’d like to add 2 full sheets of polycarbonate in between the metal sheets. Would this work?
where can you purchase skylight panels in US?
Where can I order the translucent panels? I’m only finding the clear ones near me… thanks!
not approve by osha and they crack
Do you get condensation on the inside of your metal roof in your carport
what happens if you use pop rivets to join both products together?
This is pointless as a video. A picture and text would be just as useful. A video should show you actually doing something.
hello,we have GRP Rooflight sheet with good quality, model 1000,800 and others for UK,do you want to know about this ?
it don’t look like he replays to anyone…. and the other or info videos on there web pay are pay to play…. what a helpful company.. hahaha
good info, but please make a video of you doing it
should a metal roof be grounded Thanks Lightning ??
If your concerned plenty of barns and old farm houses have lightening rods
Is this approved up to codes and regulations?
What about the sides? Especially the one side in your video that does not lap over the adjacent panel? It looks like the rain runs right down the seam!
i love this video! this is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’m having a hard time finding this product though, can you refer me to where i can get them?
thanks!!
how do you cut clear panel?
I know this is answering an old question but I will do it in case someone else comes along needing to know.
I cut my poly panels with a 140 tooth skill saw blade. I mount it reveres on the saw. This means I do not mount it so the teeth are facing the way it is suppose to be mounted for cutting plywood or paneling. I was told to do it this way by a retired contractor who now works for a big box hardware store and it worked perfectly. I even used it on my table saw for splitting the panels to be 1 foot wide and a few inches wide for installing on the inside of my home made camper for ceiling panels. I just reversed the blade so it was facing the wrong way.
