Who starts a job without speaking to the homeowner ?
@Ben the son was at home, they stopped immediately after they realized it and just took off. ? Don’t know who’s the stupid here, the guy who didn’t listen properly at the report or the ppl who state common sense.
That’s what I was thinking too.
Every average american worker.
companies who get their jobs from referral companies, basically the customer contacts and pays a company for the work to be done, that company don’t do any work themselves but instead contracts out the work to a list of companies that does the actual work. they just do the job according to the details given, never need to see or talk to the customer.
she dont need to pay.. her home was destroyed by someone else
Insurance shouldn’t even be a conversation here. They stole her roof. They need to pay to replace it. Period.
@0pLegit Would you let a bunch of bozos who just ripped the roof of the wrong house off work on your house?
@Jacob Jensen would you want an incompetent company who took your roof away to put it back , they would do a bad job.
@TripleAstyle1 A and the company offered to pay the insurance deductible. So they still paid for it.
They did offer to do it. That was all her choice.
THE COMPANY EVEN PAID THE DEDUCTIBLE ON THE INSURANCE
Buncha 13 year-olds in here acting like they’re homeowners . . .
Why doesn’t she take them to court? This is an easy case.
Court takes months or years
@Jake Martinez Are you on something, this is clearly an easy case lmfaooo
Because she will have to pay the lawyer out of her own pocket.
You don’t always need a lawyer to sue in a situation like this. You just need documented sufficient evidence at the least – and usually there are mediated talks before anything is taken to court.
Had something similar happen to me.
I don’t blame her for wanting a different company the original would skip every corner since they ain’t getting paid lol
The mistake was not letting them finish, THEN tell them it’s the wrong house… Free roof that way.
@WmTRiker Not if she didnt know it was happening…
A free roof that may possibly be a significant downgrade to the roof they had. I put only high quality shingles on my roof. If that was just a few years old and someone tore it off and put up super cheap shingles, I would not be happy. Of course, on the other hand, if your roof was about shot, then letting them finish might not be so bad. Another point is, would you want a company that can’t even get simple details right to be working on your roof?
Thought the same
@Zio Oren She lives on Madalore St. Just down from Beskar Ave.
They likely didn’t have a new roof ready that day.
If I was the homeowner, I’d file for Vandalism, Trespassing and Theft. Or all of the above.
Nice name
@Grant Stokes do you have any idea what that kinda job costs easy 8k thats more than enough to qualify
@Grant Stokes an entire roof worth of roofing is pretty expensive bud
@Grant Stokes they stole the Roof!!!! ???
Names company Five Star Roofing
Tears roof off of wrong house.
“We won’t replace it free, but we’ll give you a killer deal!”
That company should be dissolved immediately.
NEVER trust a company that doesn’t want to rectify a problem from the get go!
@Jacob Jensen They offered to pay all AFTER the news station got involved. They’re shysters.
@Jacob Jensen They told the news station they’d do it for free. Sounds like someone decided bad press was more expensive
Except they did offer to pay for the entire thing. And when she refused, they then offered to pay the insurance deductible.
This news ad is just clickbait
That “deal” should be 100% off plus damages.
@ZBruh yeah after being exposed on television lol
@thaik56 that was before it was aired on the news. Im not defending them, but they did try remediate
@ZBruh No, you shouldn’t file for insurance claim for this kind of stuff. The insurance rate will go up afterward.
Ask the company to pay full price for the job.
They did offer that. Also offered to pay for insurance deductible so another company could do it.
Its called five star roofing cos through the gaps in the roof at night you can see at least 5 shiny stars
You had the best answer. 🙂
Lol
? You made me laugh sir, thank you
I had a roof Re-done and gutters, on the roof they stepped into the drywall in one part where there isn’t a attic two times, and they only put 3 wood screws in the gutters Becuase they somehow forgot to finish it
What gaps there is no roof haha
Hey I broke your car window by accident, I can sell you a new window at discount.
The company said they’d do it for free. This is all just click bait.
She didn’t even accept that offer.
So she made an insurance claim, and the company actually went as far as paying the deductible.
*calls the news
Oh ill fix ur window for free, don’t worry about it ?
@Soviet-19LOL. The exact thought that runs through my mind when someone says something real stupid.
Yup seems about something a Asian guy would say lol
honest mistake I get it…
Five stars roofing must be avoided by everyone they are dishonest
She’s not liable. She can sue for damages.
@Automotive TV exactly
It takes money to sue someone
imagine waking up and your roof is gone
If the company made the mistake, the company pays to replace the roof they removed! No deals….you screwed up, now fix it!!!
Why is insurance even being discussed here?
This is legally vandalism and she can sue for property damages.
It’s clearly not vandalism. Shut up…
@ojiwejwioehdoi io3j2riodhweu With a name like that, you’re clearly a reputable source. Thanks gdfsauijhnfouidybafoei sdhjnubdsaoiugfbope.
@H.P Lovecat If the circumstances prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you did it intentionally (and you weren’t justified) that would be murder. Intent, or mens rea, is absolutely an element a prosecutor has to prove. “It wasn’t intentional” is a defense to murder.
@M Most felonies require mens rea, which doesn’t seem to be present here.
@Lefyre They originally offered her a deal to replace it and only offered to replace it for free once the local news got involved, I would not want to use them as well, I would make them pay for another contractor to do it because they screwed up and should use their insurance, not hers
Umm… shouldn’t the insurance of the roofing company who made that mistake pay for it, the roofing company pay the deductible for that coverage, and then suffer the price hike at the next premium due date?
The moment the news channel got involved Five Star Roofing was all about making this problem go away. Forget insurance just call your local news team, they will take care of you.
Just the fact that they offered a “deal” instead of offering to replace it for free is mind boggling.
@Superior Emerald yep, they then payed the company the woman decided to go with. She never payed a dime.
im sorry but didnt they said they would replace it for free, and she still declined
…and they called themselves “five star roofing” lol
That’s what is baffling me. Definitely not 5 Stars worthy
It won’t go against her .. the roofing company has insurance and just like a car accident.. the insurance companies will simply swap money over..
