the worst roofing job in history

I said it before, subcontractor is short form for substandard. Anybody with a few bucks could open a business and get in the BBB so do your homework on the guys doing your roof they may have just started roofing yesterday!

Liver Phone I don’t really like saying this, as it’s really an ironic term now, but you really are the cancer of the Internet. You’re a huge port of the problem we currently have here on YouTube and even the internet as a whole. Please, just fucking stop.

Hmmmm, the guy who is talking about people hiding behind their keyboard acting tough is hiding behind his keyboard acting tough. Lock the door on mom’s basement with you in it after you destroy your computer.

They used the nails, just didn’t nail them in the right place so that’s not “saving a buck”. Unless you hit the lottery or have a rich relative, people work hard for their money. If they pay for something, it should be done right. This also shows that people need to do their homework, research, ask questions, watch & see what they are doing while they are working & don’t always go with the cheapest estimate.

Just some disgruntled employees who didn’t feel like doing the roof and thought no one would go up there and check behind them. Always go on top of your roof after they leave and check the job behind him or pay someone to do it for you.

A common logical fallacy with tradesman is this: we often believe that having done _lots_ of work is equivalent to having done lots of work _correctly._ It isn’t.

Expertise is, unfortunately, hard to come by. Thus, most people (both customers and installers) simply don’t know any better. I remember lecturing the new guys about nailing carefully and they would look at me like I was being petty. You just have to understand that most roofers are young men who are extremely energetic- and they already know everything. As for customers: only the price, the inconvenience, and the color of the shingles will seem relevant to them. For these reasons, this sort of shoddy procedure is never going to change.  _Caveat emptor._

The other one that always made my blood boil is the “good roofers don’t need chalk lines” mentality. Oh, and the “you aint gonna see that anyway” attitude. And let’s not forget the roof tar quick-fixers. Sheesh. It’s hard to find conscientious workers.
